Typically, uprights are tied together at the top of upright for adding rigidity to the entire system. Drive-in pallet racking is inclusive of the entrance at a single end. Whereas, drive-through includes entrance at both ends.

4. Pallet flow rack system – The pallet flow rack system utilizes uprights and cross beams for supporting gravity roller conveyor running within the rack. Rollers are slightly pitched to permit the natural flow of pallets towards the front section of the system. This system is highly suitable for storing numerous  pallets belonging to the same type.

  • Need not drive inside the racking system

5. Push back pallet rack – The system of push back pallet racking is almost similar to the flow rack system. Here the pallets can be loaded and dropped from the front side. The pallets can easily rest on nested carts and rollers. Pallets are loaded inside the push back pallet racking system by placing the pallet facing inbound against the one in an exit position followed by pushing the same back to the lane.

  • A single aisle is required for loading and unloading.
